10.2 Emission Reduction Details
The emissions plan for AGC includes scheduled halving events every two years. This gradual reduction in the rate of new token issuance ensures that the total number of AGC in circulation grows increasingly slowly over time. By the 25th year, the annual emissions drop to just 2,930 AGC.
This emission reduction strategy is designed to taper off the supply incrementally, approaching the maximum supply of 100,000,000 AGC but never actually reaching it. The emissions decline so significantly over time that the supply asymptotically approaches the limit without surpassing it. This approach helps in maintaining scarcity and supporting the long-term value of AGC.
In summary, the controlled and decreasing emissions schedule, coupled with the halving mechanism, ensures that the AGC supply remains well-managed and sustainable, fostering economic stability and value preservation.
Allocation of Emissions
The annual emissions are divided between PoS and PoV as follows:
Proof of Stake (PoS): 45% of the annual emissions
Proof of Value (PoV): 55% of the annual emissions
This allocation ensures that both mechanisms are adequately rewarded, promoting network security and participation.
